Stuart Koop: literature can be a broad industry
“There are a number of famous writers in Melbourne. But more than famous writers, the reason why we were chosen to be a city of literature is because we have very well developed literal industry,” said Stuart Koop, Senior Project Manager of Arts Victoria.
Though it's his first time in Shenzhen, Koop is famliar with the city's literal industry. “Shenzhen has a very good reputation for printing in the world. Many Australian companies send files to Shenzhen and have the printings back. Even considering the freight, it's much cheaper and of high quality.”
Besides writers, there are many independent publishers, educational institutions, writing courses, well developed media industry and critical industy, making the literal industry broad and complete, according to Koop.
